Free Concert Handel's Messiah
RSVP here if you are interested in attending
The Foundation for the Revival of classical culture is sponsoring a free concert for families.INVITATION TO PARENTS, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS:DROWN OUT THE CACOPHONY OF HATE WITH THE MUSIC OF LOVE!MESSIAH by G. F. HandelTIME: Sunday, December 20th, 3:00 PMPLACE: All Souls Unitarian Church, Sanctuary1157 Lexington Avenue (at East 80th Street, Manhattan)this is a musical, not religious performance. We invite you to join your voice with hundreds of other New Yorkers in performing Handel's Messiah.Handel's great work, originally performed in 1741, was composed to benefit the Foundling Hospital where unwed mothers and their children were cared for, and to contribute to alleviating the debts of prisoners. The music celebrates the divine spark of immortality in every human being. It is thus the perfect answer to the "cultural policy of murder" now seeming to be sweeping across our nation, and the world. The joy of great art always triumphs over death--especially when wielded by what Martin Luther King called "the beloved community" . Dr. King commented in his book Strength To Love: “as great as are the stars of the heavens, as great as is the music of Handel's Messiah, how much greater is the mind of man that contemplates these things!”Join us in celebrating Handel's Messiah and its musical demonstration of the power of humanity to elevate itself through Love.RSVP here if you are interested in attendingDue to enthusiastic responses, we ask each school to send us your RSVPs to reserve your space. We have a simple RSVP sheet on the 2nd page of the flyer PDF for parents to fill out. There is no limit to the number of RSVPs allowed, but please do send them as soon as possible!

Parent Volunteers Needed: Turkey Bowl & Feast
The Turkey Bowl and West Prep Feast will be happening the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Sign up to bring a dish or volunteer.
Turkey Bowl and Feast
The Turkey bowl is a beautiful West Prep tradition surrounding food, fun, family and football. The entire school community enjoys a huge potluck feast in the cafeteria, followed by a student vs. teacher flag football game in the yard. All students families contribute in any way they can from cooking main dishes, sides, paper goods, or volunteering. Please contact the PA if you would like to help volunteer. Or sign up here to bring a dish and/or volunteer.
This year the “West Prep Feast” will be held on Wednesday November 25th at 12:30PM. After the feast we will be hosting the student vs. teacher game of flag football from 1:30 – 2:20 in the school yard. You are welcome to join the fun!
We are in need of parents to help us out on this day. You can help by signing up for one of the categories below. Whichever category you choose, make sure to provide enough for the entire class. For example if you sign up for paper cups make sure you send your child with at least 23-30 cups. If you make a side dish, it should be a large tray that can feed the whole class. (21-35 kids)
